Constructivism – Portland Math Tutor, LLC

Drew is a very talented tutor for math. He worked with my daughter over the past two years and she really appreciated his support. He allowed my daughter to decide where to spend their time during each session and had her solve problems in front of him to confirm her understanding of key concepts. He is very good at providing a visual representation of the concept he is teaching. I highly recommend Drew to any family looking for a math tutor for their child.

Drew has worked with our sixth grade son over the past year and has been wonderful--patient and warm and funny. My son is a bit slow to warm up and shy but after each session wraps up, he seems excited about what they covered and where he's at. Their working together has no doubt made a significant difference in terms of where my son's mathematical understanding is at now--we're grateful we found Drew!

My daughter is taking Advanced Algebra 3-4 Honors. She was struggling and her grade dropped to a D. Mr. Laiche provided her exceptional guidance and just had her final and received a final grade of B. We believe continued Tutoring should elevate her grade further. We highly recommend Mr. Laiche for math tutoring.

Drew is fantastic! We worked with him for the first time thru all of distance learning and will continue with him once the girls are back in school as well. He’s very patient and communicative. Our oldest daughter chose to switch to compact math because she “felt more confident” since starting math tutoring with Drew, and our youngest “doesn’t hate math anymore” :) We highly recommend Drew - in fact our 2 closest family friends use him too.

My daughter has been receiving math tutoring from Mr. Laiche for three years. She started with compact math in middle school, moved on to geometry in high school, and now takes Algebra 3/4. She enjoys her time with Mr. Laiche, feels comfortable with him, and is able to keep up with her classes. Mr. Laiche explains math problems clearly during their sessions and is available outside of tutoring for any additional questions. He also uses online whiteboard notes, which are available after the tutoring session. Recently, a classmate has started joining the tutoring sessions and has found them to be successful. I highly recommend Mr. Laiche as a math tutor!

Mr Laiche has been tutoring our daughter started in mid of her 8th grade and now she is a Freshman in High School. Her grade had improved significantly when she finished the 8th grade year. Mr. Laiche tutored our 8th grade daughter along with two friends for about 6 months to give her and them better support than they were able to get through their own math class. These comments also reflect her input. Mr. Laiche was responsive, kind, and able to zero in immediately on their needs. He was good at delivering feedback in a constructive way and allowed room for questions. He provided a good balance of promoting the kids to figure things out independently but with good instruction. He engaged the kids personably but with the right mix that focused mostly on math. We highly recommend him! They are definitely ready for high school math because of him!!
