Portland Math Tutor, LLC (“we,” “us”) provides private math tutoring. This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we disclose it to and how, and the security practices we use to safeguard it.
Information we collect
- Contact information you provide: your name, email address, and phone number.
- Student information needed to provide tutoring (name, school, grade, subjects).
- Communications with us: text messages, phone calls (including call recordings and voicemail transcriptions), and emails about scheduling and sessions.
- Payment and billing information: billing name and address, transaction details, and payment method information. Card and bank account numbers are collected and processed directly by our payment processor (Stripe) and are not stored on our systems.
How we use it
We use this information to schedule and deliver tutoring sessions, send reminders and confirmations, respond to your questions, process payments, and send invoices. We do not sell your information.
Text messaging
When you provide a phone number, you consent to receive text messages about scheduling, reminders, and session changes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, or reply HELP for help. Providing a phone number is not a condition of receiving tutoring.
When you provide your email address, we may email you about scheduling, sessions, confirmations, and invoices. You may opt out of non-transactional emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link included in the email or by contacting us. Transactional emails (such as invoices and session confirmations) are sent as part of providing the service.
Mobile App and Client Portal
Mobile app and client portal. Our Android app (“PMT Portal”) and the client portal at portal.mrlaiche.com let you sign in to view schedules, message the office, book sessions, and review billing. They collect the same categories of information described above — contact information, student information, communications, and payment details — and handle them exactly as described in this policy. The app stores no personal information on your device; data is transmitted over encrypted connections to our systems and to the service providers described above. Signing out of the portal removes the portal session from the app.
Sharing — who we disclose to and how
We share information only with service providers that help us operate — for example, messaging, voice, data-storage, and payment-processing providers such as Stripe — and only as needed to provide the service. We do not sell or rent personal information.
We disclose information to these providers by transmitting it electronically over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, or by granting access through access-controlled systems, solely for the purpose for which each provider was engaged. Each provider is contractually required to use the information only to perform its service and to protect it in accordance with this policy.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
Security
We take reasonable and appropriate measures to safeguard personal information, including:
- Encryption in transit: all information is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Access controls: access to personal information is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who need it to perform their functions.
- Payment data: payment card and bank details are collected and handled by Stripe or another PCI-DSS compliant payment processor. We do not receive or store full card or bank account numbers.
- Data minimization and retention: we collect only what is needed and retain information only as long as necessary to provide services and meet record-keeping obligations (see Retention below).
Retention
We keep communications as long as needed to provide services and meet record-keeping obligations.
