Mr. Laiche is patient and clear in his explanations of math with our middle school child who will not take math help from parents. We appreciate his familiarity with the PPS math curriculum. He is able to answer questions from during the week when topics are not covered clearly in our child's classroom instruction and helps to work ahead when possible.

After calling around a few places for a math tutor, Drew at Portland Math Tutoring was quick to respond with availability, prices & a thorough explanation as to what math tutoring will accomplish . With online schooling due to the pandemic, math started to be a struggle for our new middle-schooler. As parents, we had tried teaching to him ourselves, but essentially could not explain or even begin to understand the new Common Core math to help our son understand. After the first online session with Drew, our son felt very comfortable, because Drew was able to explain and connect with him about math. It's been a few months & our son is feeling confident in math & looks forward to his online sessions. Drew is a professional with clear communication & I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a math tutor.

Drew Laiche currently tutors my son in math. My son has always struggled with understanding and retaining math skills. Despite my son's resistance to math instruction in school, he enjoys his tutoring sessions with Drew. My son also struggles a great deal with focus and Drew is always upbeat and patient with him. My daughter has been receiving math tutoring from Mr. Laiche for three years. She started with compact math in middle school, moved on to geometry in high school, and now takes Algebra 3/4. She enjoys her time with Mr. Laiche, feels comfortable with him, and is able to keep up with her classes. Mr. Laiche explains math problems clearly during their sessions and is available outside of tutoring for any additional questions. He also uses online whiteboard notes, which are available after the tutoring session. Recently, a classmate has started joining the tutoring sessions and has found them to be successful. I highly recommend Mr. Laiche as a math tutor!

My son started his private lessons with Drew in August 2020 with a low B bordering on C at the end of his 7th grade. Drew is very patient and communicates very well with my son. He is currently tutoring him in compacted 7th grade math. My son was having a hard time learning from his teacher and was worried he should be in a different class, but within a few lessons with Drew he was up to speed and maintaining a minimum of a B grade.
