Middle School Math Tutoring

It’s no secret that math can be a challenging subject – abstract, complicated, and, let’s face it, not always taught in a way that students can readily understand. The anxiety of math can be a daily struggle, and falling behind can seem inevitable. But what if there were a solution to this problem?

Welcome to Portland Math Tutor, LLC, your lifeline in the world of math education. Founded in 2016 by myself, Drew Laiche, a licensed teacher in Oregon with an endorsement in Advanced Mathematics. I have built a reputation for building students confidence in math transforming the way middle and high school students approach the subject.

Tutoring sessions at Portland Math Tutor, LLC are much more than simple one-on-one instruction. Students recieve a comprehensive math learning experience that includes supporting guided notes, practice materials as printable PDFs with answer keys, and access to an online whiteboard, which archived for future reference.

A key differentiator of our service is the use of online math assessments and progress monitoring software. These tools allow us to personalize the tutoring experience for each student, setting specific, achievable goals and regularly evaluating progress.

Mr. Laiche tutored our 8th grade daughter along with two friends for about 6 months to give her and them better support than they were able to get through their own math class. These comments also reflect her input. Mr. Laiche was responsive, kind, and able to zero in immediately on their needs. He was good at delivering feedback in a constructive way and allowed room for questions. He provided a good balance of promoting the kids to figure things out independently but with good instruction. He engaged the kids personably but with the right mix that focused mostly on math. We highly recommend him! They are definitely ready for high school math because of him!!
