Independent Tutor vs. McTutor?
As a parent, you want the best for your child, especially when it comes to their education. If your child is struggling with math, finding the right tutor is crucial. While platforms like Wyzant offer a wide selection of tutors, there are significant advantages if you choose Portland Math Tutor, LLC for your child’s math tutoring needs. Let’s explore why Portland Math Tutor, LLC stands out from the crowd. Why Chose Portland Math Tutor, LLC Over Wyzant?
Licensed Math Teacher
One key advantage of choosing Portland Math Tutor, LLC is the expertise and qualifications of Drew Laiche. Drew is not just a tutor; he is a licensed math teacher in Oregon. With his in-depth understanding of the math curriculum and instructional strategies, Drew brings a level of professionalism and knowledge that sets him apart. You can trust that your child is receiving guidance from a qualified and experienced math educator.
Reliable and Effective Tutoring
Finding a tutor on platforms like Wyzant can be hit-or-miss. It’s challenging to assess a tutor’s effectiveness based solely on their profile. However, with Portland Math Tutor, LLC, you can be confident in the quality of tutoring services you’ll receive.
Drew Laiche has been a private math tutor since 2016, helping numerous students excel in their math studies. In addition to his private tutoring experience, Drew has also taught in public school math classrooms. This extensive background and proven track record ensure that your child will receive the highest level of instruction and support.
Personalized Approach
At Portland Math Tutor, LLC, we understand that every student is unique and has different learning needs. Unlike the process of finding a tutor on Wyzant, where you have to filter through numerous profiles and select someone based on limited information, Portland Math Tutor, LLC offers a more personalized approach. Drew takes the time to understand your child’s unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning style. This personalized attention allows for tailored instruction, focusing on the specific areas where your child needs support and guidance.

Mr. Laiche is an incredible math tutor. He's not only helped our son with pre-calculus, but now our daughter with geometry. He's patient, approachable and takes the time to explain concepts in a way that is easier to absorb than in the classroom with multiple students and limited time. We highly recommend.

Our 7th grader has been lucky to have Drew as our math tutor for the past year. Aside from the obvious and measurable improvement in grades, we have also noted an increase in confidence and overall interest in math. He now looks forward to his tutoring sessions and has enjoyed the ability to ask questions at his own pace and learning style.

My son and I highly recommend Mr. Laiche. He has been tutoring my son in Pre-calculus for three months. During that time, he has gone from getting F's on his unit tests to getting B's. Mr. Laiche has been very patient and done an excellent job of breaking down the complex information and helping my son understand the material. He has always been prompt to appointments and very flexible with scheduling. My son would be failing math without his help. Thank you for all your help!

Highly recommend Mr. Laiche! He has been so great to work with remotely during the pandemic, and has really helped my middle schooler feel more confident about math. Mr. Laiche adjusts his lessons to accommodate what my child is working on at school, which has been incredibly helpful during this year of distance learning.

Drew has a great rapport with our 13-year old son who is geeking out on math. He looks forward to his tutor sessions with Drew and seems to absorb everything he is learning. We have even recommended Drew to a couple other families who are equally pleased with their kids’ improvement in math.

Drew worked with my 13 year old daughter throughout the summer. This greatly improved her confidence and her aptitude. She had been taking algebra in 8th grade, during her sessions they dove into concepts she was struggling with working ahead to geometry. Definitely a very logical approach to tutoring, and my daughter listened to Drew, much more than me! I feel like he showed a great deal of patience, overall was a positive experience and worth the price.
